The thirth day of my short holiday, that unfortunately became even shorter.
My alarm was set at eight o'clock AM but al thalf past seven, I was already
awake. I watched TV for a while and then took a shower and got dressed.
My breakfast was scheduled for nine AM so before breakfast, I got the BMW
from behind the shed to the front of the house so I could easy load my luggage
on my bike but first I dried the saddle with a towel because it was wet with
dew.

Breakfast was very good with various types of bread, yogurt, orange juice and
coffee.
I loaded all my luggage on the bike and left Bed & Breakfast Ytsma State in
Follega to visit my brother in law in Langelille, a small village in Friesland.

My Tomtom GPS has a function to choose twisty roads and that worked like a
charm. I got on very nice roads through the countryside and some picturesque
small villages.

At almost half past ten AM, I arrived in Langelille and spend some time with
my brother in law.

I arrived in Langelille
He showed me the house he is restoring and the new garage he has build and
we had some good time together, drinking coffee, chatting and eating lunch.
After lunch, I got on my bike again to ride to the American Motorcycle Museum
in Raalte.

I was just having a good time, riding wonderful roads in very nice weather
whem I entered the village Nieuwleusen. When I stopped at a trafficlight
I saw a big motorcycleshop, Ten Kate Motoren.
I had been riding for an hour so I wanted to stop for a while and check the
motorcycles in the showroom out. I walked through the showroom and saw some
nice bikes but nothing realy special.

When I left the showroom and walked to my bike, I noticed that the front of
my bike was wet......
The right frontbrake caliper was all wet and so was the brakedisk. Not good !
I went to the workshop to ask for advise and one of the mechanics came with me
to check out the problem.

The right frontbrake caliper was all wet
The course of the problem was a broken brakeline and they don't have these BMW
brakeline's in stock. A temporary solution was not possible so the only thing
I could do was to ride home, very careful with just my rear brake.
Unfortunately, it was not safe enough to continue my trip with this defect so
I called the B&B where I was going to sleep tonight that I could not make it.
Then I left and set the Tomtom to choose the fastest route back home using as
much freeway as possible.

A28 to Zwolle
I drove home on the A28, past Zwolle, then past Utrecht to the A27 in the
direction of Breda and then the A59, the A16 and the A58 in the direction
of Bergen op Zoom.

It was so boring to ride the freeway on the slow lane, doing only ninety km/hour
and keeping a good distance from the traffic before me.
A few times I had to stop or slow down because of some traffic jams so whem I
arrived at the exit Wouwse Plantage, I was happy to leave the freeway for a
little bit of country road riding.

At almost six o'clock PM, I parked the BMW in the garage and was just in time for
dinner with my wife and one of our sons with his children.
Due to my broken bike, I had to cancel the motorcycle tour I would do with a few
bikers from our church this Saturday

This afternoon, I went to Motorservice Ossendrecht to get my brakeline fixed.
The new brakeline is ordered and I hope to have my bike back next Tuesday.
