Since some time, I don't have a sidecar on my BMW anymore. Today we leave for a trip to Larochette in Luxembourg and my wife Erika, my sister Anneke, and our son, go with the car and my friend Paul and I go on our motorbikes.

Erika, Anneke and Sjoerd have already left home and at half past eight, Paul and I leave too. Paul on his Honda CB650/Four and I on my BMW R100/5 (a R60/5 with an R100RS engine). The odometer is on 14781 km when we start.

Our first coffee pitstop is in Baarle-Nassau in a much to expensive restaurant. we payed fl 3,50 for a coffee, twice as much as normal.
From Baarle-Nassau on the Dutch-Belgium border, we ride via Geel, Diest and Herk-de-Stad to St-Truiden.

The road is not very exciting but we are lucky with the weather. De roads are wet but we only get a few drops of rain and we don't care because we are wearing our rainsuits.

In St-Truiden, we park the bikes to get some coffee. In a nice small café we drink our coffee while some older Flemisch gentleman are discussing the local soccer competition in their Flemisch Dutch.

From St-Truiden we ride in the direction of Huy and from Huy to Modave. We enjoy the next road so much that we forget to look at the signs so somewhere, we got on the wrong road but never mind, we are having a good time riding this nice road.

The next village where we pick up our route again, is Hamoir. In Hamoir, we buy a can of coca cola and some French fries.

From Hamoir we ride to Durbuy and onto the N34 via La Roche-en-Ardenne to Bastogne. There is a giant traffic jam in Bastogne so it is time for coffee.

Bastogne is very close to the border with Luxembourg so soon we leave Belgium and cross the border into Luxembourg. Via Ettelbrück we ride to Larochette and at five PM, we arrive at camping Auf Kengert a few kilometer from Larochette.

Somewhere, halfway between the Netherlands and Luxembourg, i had filled my tank. The fuel consumption was 16.5 kilometer on a liter.
