After some sightseeing, I walked to the Musée Oceanographique and bought
a ticket. It was a very interesting museum with skeletons of all kinds of
fish and whales, submarines and all kind of sea related things.

Musée Oceanographique
I bought a cola at the vending machine across the street from the museum.
Then I walked around some more and because it was warm, I bought another
cola in an English pub (very expensive !).
On the bike agian, I visited the casino. I'm not such a gambler so I just
made some pictures of the outside of the casino.

The casino in Monaco
There were a lot of intersting cars on the casino parking, Porches,
Bentleys, Ferrari's and Rolls-Royce and much more.

On the coast-route I drove back to Nice and took the tollroad to Aux
en Provence. I tried to find a motel near Aux en Provence but everytime
they told me they had no vacancies. (maybe they did not want a smelly
biker in their nice rooms ? )
Finaly I desided to press on and ride all night to Luxembourg and sleep there.
Again on the tollroad, I drove past Avignon, Orange and Valance to Lyon.
From Lyon, I went past Mâcon to Beaune. In Beaune, I did not take the
autoroute to Paris but the autoroute to Dijon to the North.
Saturday, July 21, 1979
After I passed Dijon at half past seven in the morning, , I was feeling
very sleepy after riding all night so I stopped at a hotel-restaurant and got
a coffee and a croissant. Then I asked if I could get a room for a few hours
to catch some sleep. Since I left Genthod yesterday morning, I had traveled
1258 kilometers.

The hotel in Norges-la-Ville
At half past ten I left the hotel again. (The room was 70 French francs)
From Norges-la-VilleI drove to Langres and then to Neufchateau. Between Langres
and Neufchateau I had lunch with a coffee and French fries with delicious
mayonaise.
At one o'clock I got on the bike to ride to Neufchateau and from Neufchateau
to Nancy and then I left the route nationales and got on the autoroute to
Metz and Thionville. From Thionville it was not to far to the border with
Luxembourg and in Luxembourg I went to Larochette via Ettelbruck and Nommern.
My parents had a mobile home on camping Auf kengert in Larochette. At this
moment an oncle and aunt and their children were using the mobile home.

At five PM I arrived on camping Auf Kengert
They were not there when I arrived at five o'clock so I went to the camping
shop and bought a cola and some sweets and waited in a chair in front of
the mobile home.

The SR500, resting from a long trip
Sunday, July 22, 1979
It was Sunday so went to church in larochette, together with my oncle and
aunt. After church we had coffee in the garden of the "Heimstatte" near
the church.
In the afternoon there was a demolision derby on a circuit not far from the
camping. A ticket to see the races was a hundred Luxemburgian francs (The
same value as Belgian francs). There were teams from all villages from
this part of Luxembourg.
The races started at three o'clock but first the cars had to be unloaded
from the trucks they came in and they found an easy way to do that.....

Unloading the car from the truck
It was spectaculair to see the big, mostly American cars, hit eachother
and pushing eachother of the track. At one time, one car landed on top
of another car and the race went on until there was only one car riding.

Monday, July 23, 1979
It was between ten and eleven before I got out of bed on Monday morning.
I had a good breakfast and coffee and at noon I left the camping on my
way home.
From Larochette, I went to Diekirch and then to St. Vith and Malmèdy over
the racing circuit of Franchorchamps (it was nice to ride on the
circuit !). Past Vervier, I went in the directon of Liege on the
A27/E5. From Leige I got on the A13/E39 to Hasselt and the E3/E39 to
Antwerp.
A short distance before Antwerp, I had something to eat at a very nice
BP restaurant and then I took the A10 past Breda to Rotterdam.
From Rotterdam it was only a short ride home and at half past four I
arrived at my parents home in Voorburg.
This week I covered 3240 kilometer and the SR500 needed 2.4 liter
of motoroil. Except the lost exhaust gasket, the bike worked perfect.
