With my sleepingbag and a tent on the luggage rack of the GoldWing,
I left home in The Hague at nine in the morning, on my way to my
first international GoldWing treffen in Luxembourg, organised by
GoldWing Club Luxembourg.

My blue GoldWing GL1000
Near the Belgian border, in Eysden, I filled my tank and then I
crossed the border and went via Liege to Verviers. From Verviers I
went to the circuit of Franchorchamps amd then further South to the
city Luxembourg. In Luxembourg I ran into some roadworks but after
some searching, I found the road to Kockelschuer where the treffen
was organised.
At a quarter to three in the afternoon, I arrived at the treffen site
and pitched my tent. It was 425 km from my home to the treffen.
Registration was not yet possible because it was only Thursday and
the treffen would start tomorrow.

Just arrived at the treffen site
Next to my tent were some more members of GWCH (Gold Wing
Club Holland), Sieneke, Frans and Egbert. It was nice
to be with some more club members to chat and explore the treffen site.

Although the treffen officialy starts tomorrow, a lot of GoldWingers
were already there. It was nice to see so many beautiful GoldWings.

A lot of people came a day early
In the evening, I had my supper in the restaurant of the sports hall on
the treffen site, together with a GoldWingrider from Finland and one
from Sweden. (fortunately they could speak English)

On Friday, a lot more GoldWings arrive on the treffen site. Beautiful
bikes, with or without a sidecar and some with a trailer behind the bike.
Soon the field next to our tents, that was empty yesterday, is filled
with tents and bikes.

GoldWings and tents
Unfortunately, I noticed a crack in the faiting where it is mounted on
the frame. I have to ride the bike home so I rather not stress it to
much now so I don't take my bike for a ride.
On the organised tour through Luxembourg that was planned today, I did't
want to use my own bike but Frans offered to let me ride pillion on his
GL1500. So now I did not have to miss the tour. Now I am not riding, I
have the chance to make pictures while riding.

Egbert, riding his GL1100 in front of us
We make a nice tour and we enjoy the beautyful scenery in Luxembourg
with the hills and valleys and picturesque villages.

Riding through the beautiful scenery
When the rest of the group wants to ride a more sporty pace, we,
Sieneke, Frans, Egbert and I, decide to ride our own tour. In Larochette
we stop on the market square for a coffee break and then we ride to
the castle of Larochette. I have been there before so I can show them
the way on the narrow winding road to the castle.

On the market square in Larochette
As we visit the castle, some elderly people advised us to go to the
castle of Bourscheid because that is very nice too. So, our next stop
was the castle of Bourscheid.
