For today, GoldWing Club Danmark planned a parade and a tour but I have other plans. I have never been in Kopenhagen, the
capital of Danmark so that's where I go today.
At eight o'clock AM, Andre and I drive to the Q8 station in Vissenbjerg to fill our tanks. While we are at the gas station a
Danish man on a bicycle tells us he has seen us on local TV. That must have been the camera crew we saw yesterday.
After a nice breakfast I leave the treffensite to go to Kopenhagen. I want to spend some time in Kopenhagen so I get on the
highway E20 to get there. To get from the isle Fyn to the next isle you have to cross the sea but they build an very long bridge.
The first part is just long and wide, with a highway and a railroadtrack on it but the last part is a very high suspension
bridge, big enough for big seaships to pass it without a problem. If you are driving on the highest part of the bridge and
are going down again, you have a spectaculair view.
At half past ten I crossed the bridge and have to pay toll. It costs 120 Danish kronen to cross the bridge. The road from
Vissenbjerg to Kopenhagen is 180 kilometer long so I have an hour and a half to drive before I get to Kopenhagen.
The parkings along the highway are very neat with clean toilets and plenty of picknick tables. very good! Halfway Kopenhagen
I stopped at a parking for a rest, just to stretch my legs and drink a soda. It is very nice sunny weather so I have to drink
a lot. At eleven I arrive in Kopenhagen.

I parked the bike in the harbour area.
Because I also own a Harley, I'm a member of the HOG, the Harley Owners
Group. The H.O.G. has a European Touring Guide that European members get every year and that is a very usefull
book with maps of all European countries and some maps of big cities. I scanned the map of Kopenhagen and printed it
on a larger scale and with this map it was very easy to find the statue of the little Mermaid in the harbour of
Kopenhagen.
The statue itself is not very impressive but the area around it is very beautifull with very nice buildings. I park
the GoldWing next to some bicycles near the water and walk through a park to the little mermaid, together with
lots of tourists.

The famous little mermaid.

After my visit to the mermaid I get back to the GoldWing to drive through the streets of Kopenhagen to get a tourists
impression of Kopenhagen. I think I like it here. Good roads, nice terrace's (with very expensive drinks) and lots of
nice old buildings and also very friendly people.
In the harbour I see some nice ships, a very big cruise ship and some beautifull yachts and two old wooden sailboats.
I park the bike to walk past the ships and take some pictures. After a short walk I go back to the bike because it is
getting hot. It is 30 degrees Celcius and I'm wearing my leather motorcycle jeans and it feels like a sauna. Time to get
on the road again.

In the harbour
I drive through Kopenhagen, past the Central Station and I am not sure where to go now so I stop to look at the map.
When I'm standing at the sidewalk a Danish man with a few children walk towards me and tell's me in Danish that he likes
the bike. I ask him if he speaks English. He does so we chat a bit and he shows me the way out of Kopenhagen.

In Kopenhagen
Via the A21 I leave Kopenhagen and drive to Roskilde, the former capital of Danmark. When I enter Roskilde I see a big M
on the side of the road so it's time for a lunchbreak. With a Fishfillet sandwich, a fishsalad and a big milkshake in my
stomach, I feel a lot better.
I get on the GoldWing again and must have taken a wrong turn because after a while I notice
by the shadow on the road that I'm driving to the North and not to the West but the road I'm driving on is so beautifull
that I don't care what direction it goes (it's holiday :-) I drive past small pitoresque villages with nice colored houses,
between the green hills with views over the sea. It's like driving in a holiday brochure.
Finaly I see a sign that points to the direction I have to go and via road 23 and 57 I drive back to the tollbridge to
the isle Fyn.
It is a nice two lane road between the green fields. The sun is shining and I enjoy the ride. Along the road I notice a
sign of a restaurant, the "Elmely Kro". It's a nice old building with a nice terrace so I park the bike to get a coffee.

A nice restaurant, the "Elmely Kro"

I order a cappuccino with a piece of chocolate cake and when I get my camera to get some pictures the waiter asks me if I want
him to take a picture with me on it. That's nice so finaly I have a holidaypicture with me on it;-)
The coffee and cake is very expensive and it is only a very small peice of cake but that is normal in Danmark and the taste is
very good so I can recommend it anyway, dispite the price.
I enjoy my coffebreak in the shadow of a parasol and look at the map for the rest of my trip. Then it's time to get on the road
again. After a short ride am standing at the tollboot at the bridge to Fyn. I pay the 120 Danish kronen and drive over the bridge
to Fyn. Right after the bridge I leave the highway and park the bike at a viewpoint on the seashore.

The tollbridge.
I make some pictures, eat a piece of cake I had with me and get on the bike again to find a gas station. Soon I find a gas
station and after I filled my tank I see that the glass of my fairing is filled with dead flies so I try to clean it.
Unfortunately the water at the gas station is very dirty and before I discovered what a stupid thing I was doing it was
to late so now I have some scratches on my windshield .... sh$&%*t.
