From the castle of Larochette, I drive the narrow road down the hills into the valley and at
the end of this road I turn right to Cruchten, past camping "Auf-Kengert".
After passing the camping I ride through a forrest and when I leave the forrest I park the bike
to enjoy the scenery. When I switch the engine off it is so quiet I haven't experienced in a long
time. The only noise you hear is some birds singing and that's all. Even in Brabant, the relative
quiet part of the Netherlands where I live, you always hear a car, airplane or whatever. It is a
joy to sit here and listen to the silence and enjoy the view.

Time to move on. . . , via Cruchten to Ettelbruck. From Ettelbruck I take the road to Bastogne,
a nice three lane road, winding up and down the hills with nice fast corners. FUN!!
Along this road a group of bikers with supersports are taking action pictures in one of the
fast corners and obvious having a good time.
Because it is getting late now, I decide to take the highway home, from Bastonge on. At Bastonge
I get on the E25 to Liege (Luik) and about ten kilometers before Liege, in Sprimont, I fill my
gastank for the last time this trip.
Next to the gas station is an AC restaurant so I go into the restaurant to have some sandwiches,
a big cola and a nice desert and at half past seven I leave the restaurant for the last part of
the trip, jump on the Sportster and continue to follow the E25 to Liege.

Gas and coffee stop near Leige (Luik)
From Liege I take the A13 in the direction of Hasselt and Antwerp. The roads in Luik go through
a lot of tunnels and unlike some years ago, there is no delay in Liege.
Between Liege and Hasselt I make an extra stop to stretch my legs and do some exercise because my
muscles are getting a little stiff after twelve ours traveling. Between Hasselt and Antwerpen I have
to stop again for some exercise.
I am glad I bought the highway steps because on a long trip like this it's nice to be able to
change position every now and then.
After the last exercise break I press on, via the ring around Antwerp, onto the highway direction
Bergen op Zoom until the Zandvliet/Ossendrecht exit.
After leaving the highway I drive cross the border into the Netherlands again on some nice backroads
and after a 695 km trip, fourteen hours on the road and only the last part highways, I park the
Harley in the garage. It was a great trip !

The Sportster is running perfect and with the Corbin seat, the highway steps, the Superglide handlebars
and the big tankbag as a backrest on the sissybar it is very capable for trips like this.
