Past Gendringen I cross the border to Germany and drive to the little village
Arnholt. Then I get on the 67 past Rees and Kalkar to Goch. In Kalkar I stop
at an Avia gas station. Gas is cheaper in Germany so I better fill my tank
here. I fill the tank and I'm happy with the milage I get, 5.5 liter on 100
kilometer, including the warming up of the bike to test the cooling system
after the repairs in Zelhem.
Through Kalkar I drive to Goch. From Goch I want to take the road to
Nieuw-Bergen, in Limburg in Holland but it's not signposted so I ask
directions at a gas station. It's easy, so a short time later I cross the
Dutch border again.

Coffee and "vlaai"
I'm in the Dutch province Limburg now, famous for it's "vlaai", a kind of cake
they make here with fruit on top. On the road from Goch to Nieuw-Bergen I
notice a small restaurant with a nice terrace so I park the bike and order coffee
and a piece of apple "vlaai"
After this break, I go on to Nieuw-Bergen. In Nieuw-Bergen, I go left, on the N271
to the South until I get on the N270, past Wansum to Deurne. In Deurne I get on the
road to Asten were I get on the A21/E34 past Eindhoven to Turnhout in Belgium.
Although there are a lot of warnings for congested roads on the radio I am lucky
and the only delay I have is when the A21 goes past Eindhoven, when the speed drops
to 50 km/h for a few kilometers.

On a parking along the A21
Just past Eindhoven I'm getting thirsty so I stop at a parking next to a gas
station and get a Pepsi from my topbox. I packed it in old newspapers so it is
still cool. I enjoy the pepsi and look at the traffic passing by. A lot of
Harley's, on their way to the Super Rally near Brussel.
It's half past five when I get on the bike again and without any delay I drive past
Turnhout, to exit 21, Herentals. Here I leave the highway and get on the secondary
road past Oostmalle and Brecht to Wuustwezel. From Wuustwezel I drive to Essen and
between Essen en Huibergen I cross the Dutch border into Holland again.
From the border it's not far to my home but first I go to a gas station to fill the
tank. 5.2 liter on 100 kilometer, it's getting better all the time ;-)
At six o'clock PM I park the bike next to the Tour Glide again. I drove 357
kilometer today and 840 kilometer total in two days. The weather was perfect and I
had a great time!
